DFA1979+FINALFANTASY+BIRDYNN //

From indiechristoph

Cassette Culture has a few excellent Rex The Dog remixes, get them while you can.

i guess i'm floating put up the new Books/Jose Gonzalez collaboration (hint: it's a Nick Drake cover and starts with "Cello").

Pretty Much Amazing has Hot Chip covering Joy Division.

And alas, what do I have?

Both tracks above are really great--I've always been in love with Final Fantasy's solo records as well as his work with the Arcade Fire, and his signature looped strings resonate pretty well in this rather uncanny remix.

I had just recently caught on to Birdy Nam Nam, and when I listened to Manual For Successful Rioting I was immediately reminded of Tepr's Cote Quest, which is (in my opinion) a record everyone should own. Very few times can dance records have absolutely no filler--I think it's safe to say that BNN has broken the mold and produced one of the best efforts so far this year.
